NEED for AI:
The manufacturing industry is shifting towards "Agile Manufacturing" and Industry 5.0, which will bring a new paradigm of cooperation between humans and machines without phasing out humans from the production cycle.
AI REGIO SOLUTION:
AI PRESTO aims to develop an automatic visual inspection system for CNC machine tools, inspired by Industry 5.0 and Collaborative Intelligence concepts. Intermek Srl will work with tech provider Video Systems Srl and DIH AA to experiment with AI potential in quality and process control for their precision mechanic sector.
EXPECTED BENEFITS:
The automatic visual inspection system would improve quality control and speed up order fulfillment for Intermek, while also allowing employees to focus on skill development. The system may also benefit the DIH by increasing visibility and attracting more customers.
Video Systems Srl will develop an automatic visual inspection system integrated with manipulation robots for Intermek Srl and DIH AA to perform tasks such as identifying and measuring tools, saving data to a database for analysis and predicting tool consumption.
